God never promises the absence of storms. He just promises to walk with us through them.

The love that we were created to receive will never fail. Ever. If you are struggling today with a feeling of being uncovered in some way, be encouraged to know that God’s love will cover you completely.

A graphical representation of the contradictions in the bible. Each red line links 2 contradicting statements.
WILL ALWAYS REBLOG.

WOAH

This reminds me of a really fascinating theological idea I read once. It poses that God meant for the Bible to be full of contradictions, because it isn’t an instruction manual, but a test of character. If you can read through all the books and stories, all the confusing, contradictory statements, and you still choose to take home a message of peace, acceptance, and forgiveness, then you’ve passed God’s test.
I’m not a very religious person, but I still really like that idea.

^ I like that interpretation :D

Somebody needs to get that shit to Westboro Baptist.

  • Sharing the Gospel with someone in a kind and loving way is not disrespecting their beliefs.
  • Telling someone that they’re a sinner and need a Savior, just like everyone else in the world, is not being judgmental.
  • Refusing to worship false gods and/or refusing to conform to the patterns of the world/engage in sinful behavior because everyone else is doing it is not being closed-minded.
  • Sharing uplifting Scripture with someone is not “shoving the Bible down their throat.”
  • Harassing someone, spreading stereotypes, and/or bullying someone for their religion is disrespecting their beliefs.
  • Telling someone that their sins are worse than yours are and/or saying that they are too bad to be saved is being judgmental.
  • Refusing to talk to/be kind to/help/accept someone because they have different beliefs or because they are a sinner (aren’t we all?) is being closed-minded.
  • Using the Bible to attack someone and trying to force them to believe in God is “shoving the Bible down someone’s throat.”

Standing up for God is not wrong.

Telling someone that God loves them and sent His son to die for their sins is not wrong.

Telling someone that Jesus is the only way to Heaven is not wrong.

Spreading the Gospel is not wrong.

DOING WHAT GOD CALLED YOU TO DO IS NOT WRONG!

Just make sure you share Christ’s love with the world.

“We are the light of the world. We are a city on a hill” -Kari Jobe.

Mark 16:15-16

New King James Version (NKJV)

15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”

Matthew 28:18-20

New King James Version (NKJV)

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore[a] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.[b]

Romans 12:2

New King James Version (NKJV)

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

John 15:18-25

New King James Version (NKJV)

The World’s Hatred

18 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates Me hates My Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. 25 But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’[a]

Luke 6:22

New King James Version (NKJV)

22 Blessed are you when men hate you,
    And when they exclude you,
And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,
For the Son of Man’s sake.

Matthew 5:11

New King James Version (NKJV)

11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
